The Chicago Board Options Exchange has filed a proposal to create an ETF (Exchange Trade Fund) that would allow institutional and individual investors to buy and sell bitcoin. The proposal was withdrwawn in early January to the US government shutdown. An Bitcoin ETF would finally allow mutual and pension funds to purchase bitcoin.
